Come discuss socialist approaches to housing and tenant-organizing with Venezuelan comrade Rigel Sergent, Deputy to the National Assembly and Director of the Movement for Renters. We will be hosting a discussion between DSA comrades doing housing justice and tenant-organizing work in the US with a comrade and organizer who is an expert on Venezuelan approaches and history with these issues through La Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela (GMVV or the Great Housing Mission in English).
Venezuela's Great Housing Mission (GMVV) was created in 2011 by President Hugo Chávez to turn housing into a human right. In April of 2023 the program reached a new milestone with 4.5 million homes delivered to working-class Venezuelan families.
