Migrant Representation: soy de aqui y de alla (From Here and From There)

Thursday, September 9th - 8 PM EST / 7 PM CT / 6 PM MT / 5 PM PT

This past June 6th Mexico held its congressional election and the left wing MORENA government of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador increased its majority. In Mexico City, for the first time in history, migrant deputies were elected to the Mexican Congress. With this, those from Mexico City who reside abroad are represented in the Mexican Congress.

During this election, our very own Immigrants’ Rights Working Group co-chair Jorge Mújica was elected as an Alternate Federal Deputy (Diputado Federal Suplente).

Join the Immigrants’ Rights Working Group for a webinar, Migrant Representation: soy de aqui y de alla (From Here and From There). We will hear from Jorge about the importance of political representation and participation. For the migrant working class, we are from both here and there politically.
